Quiet No More!
Common Woman Chorus and Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus “[sang] out magnificently” at a monumental concert on June 22, 2019 entitled Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall. This event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall uprising, the catalyst for the modern LGBTQ+ movement for civil rights and the inspiration for the annual celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride.
CWC, TGMC and their special guests, the Triad Pride Men’s and Women’s Choruses, performed the title music suite—a brand new, 8-movement work co-commissioned by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. In doing so, the four choruses represented North Carolina as part of the largest collaboration of LGBTQ+ choruses in history. This work will be performed by over 25 choruses nationwide this Spring.
Thank you, CVNC and Chatham Life & Style for the full reviews of our performance.
